Whiter, brighter, happier: cosmetic dental treatments to transform the way you smile

State-of-the-art professional teeth whitening

Embarrassed about your smile’s yellow or brown stains? At Eurodental, we offer a wide range of whitening options – from prescription kits you can use at home to the advanced Enlighten system, which combines a home kit with a final in-surgery treatment for the ultimate dazzling result. We’ll first ask you to attend a whitening consultation so that we can assess your dental health and decide which option is best suited to your needs and lifestyle. Unlike the toothpastes and treatments you can buy over the counter or online – which are at best, ineffective and at worst, dangerous to use – teeth whitening at Eurodental is gentle and clinically proven to work.

How whitening works

After your consultation, we’ll take your dental impressions and send them off to a dental lab, where bespoke whitening trays will be made to fit your teeth exactly – targeting the bleaching gel effectively, without harming your gums. Your dentist will give you a set of syringes filled with your prescription bleaching gel, and you’ll need to wear your trays for the prescribed amount of time at home. After your treatment has completed, you can keep your custom trays for future top-up treatments as and when required. If you’re having the Enlighten whitening treatment, we’ll finish your treatment with an in-surgery session.

From minor changes to a full smile makeover: discover versatile veneers

If you’re unhappy with your smile, but can’t pinpoint why, veneers may well be the solution. Created from eggshell-thin layers of porcelain, veneers are permanently bonded over your existing teeth – no drilling required – and are suited to a surprisingly large variety of aesthetic solutions. From hiding chips and gaps to smoothing irregularities and whitening, veneers will give you the uniformly healthy-looking smile you really want. They can also be used in tandem with other cosmetic treatments, such as dental bridges. At Eurodental, our experienced team will be able to talk you through the options, including the cost of veneers and what they can do for your smile.

FAQs

Is teeth whitening suitable for everyone?

There are a few patients for whom whitening may not be advisable, which is why it’s important to see a GDC-registered professional for an initial consultation. They will consider your medical history and your dental health before confirming if it’s safe for you to have whitening treatment.

How do I get started with teeth whitening?

During your whitening consultation, we’ll carry out a full examination before confirming you’re a good candidate for whitening. If whitening is the right treatment for you, we will take your dental impressions, which will be sent to a lab where your custom-fit bleaching trays will be manufactured. Unlike generic bleaching trays, lab-made trays exactly fit the contours of your gum line, protecting your gums and targeting your teeth more accurately.

Can you whiten crowns, bridges or veneers?

No, the whitening gel only affects natural teeth – so if you are having dental restorations such as crowns, bridges or veneers, make sure you ask about whitening too. Whitening should be carried out first, so that any restorations can be colour-matched to your newly brightened teeth.

How long does teeth whitening last?

After teeth whitening, your teeth will start to collect stains and darken again over time – but you can be proactive about making your smile stay white for longer. Try to avoid foods and drinks that stain teeth, and maintain a rigorous dental hygiene routine. You can also use your bespoke whitening trays for top-up treatments at Eurodental.

How do veneers work?

Because veneers sit over the top of your teeth, the dentist will gently file away a layer of enamel proportionate to the thickness of the veneers. This is usually carried out under a local anaesthetic. When your bespoke veneers are ready, the dentist will bond them in place using a special curing light, and finish by fine-tuning their look and shape manually.

Do veneers hurt?

No. Sometimes we might use a local anaesthetic, but it’s not always necessary and applying veneers generally involves minimal discomfort. Your cosmetic dentist will discuss your treatment in depth so you know exactly what to expect.

How long do veneers last?

With proper care, your porcelain veneers can last up to 15 years.

Can I get veneers if I grind my teeth?

Your dentist will take this into consideration before recommending veneers. In many cases, wearing a night guard mitigates against veneers being damaged by teeth grinding.
